    Origin of the club

    The formation of Middlesex County Cricket Club took place on December 15, 1863, through the efforts of the Walker family of Southgate at London Tavern. The founding members of the club included some notable players such as Vyell Edward Walker, the first player to score a century and take 10 wickets in the same match.

    Middlesex played their maiden first-class match against Sussex at cattle Market Ground in Islington in 1864. 

    Middlesex in Vitality Blast 

    Middlesex has been competing in the Vitality Blast (The T20 Blast) since the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2003. The club won the tournament once in 2008 after winning the final against Kent Spitfires at Rose Bowl Ground by 3 runs. They have made it to the quarter-finals in the tournament three times.

    Achievements

    Middlesex is one of the most prestigious cricket clubs in the domestic structure of England and Wales and has created strong junior programs. They have won the County Championship a record total of 13 times, with their most recent win in 2016 after an unbeaten season.
