Cricket News: England VS India - Jasprit Bumrah made history, and Michael Vaughan criticised
LONDON: Jasprit Bumrah made ODI history on Tuesday by becoming the first Indian pacer to take six wickets in England
Bumrah accomplished this achievement during the first One-Day International of the three-match series against England on Tuesday at the Kennington Oval, when he recorded the best stats of his career, 6/19.
With this accomplishment, Burma tied for the third-best ODI bowling statistics by an Indian. Stuart Binny tops the chart with a score of 6/4 against Bangladesh in 2012, and Anil Kumble comes in second with a score of 6/12 against the West Indies in 1993.
Michael Vaughan is criticized on Twitter following England's historic collapse
Former England captain Michael Vaughan is well-known for making hilarious and absurd cricket predictions on social media. Vaughan discussed how England may reach 400 against India in the ODI series a few weeks ago. By citing the outstanding batting performances of Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Jos Buttler, the 47-year-old backed his claim.
All of these assertions, however, were disproved in the opening ODI at the Kennington Oval in London, where England was bowled out for just 110 after electing to bat first. With his best bowling stats of 6/19, Jasprit Bumrah demolished England's potent batting lineup. Fans start viciously mocking Vaughan throughout the first inning because of his predictions.
'Michael Just Let Me Get My Ducks In A Row’ Wasim Jaffer’s Tweet
Wasim Jaffer, a former Indian opener, engaged Michael Vaughan in their customary Twitter conversation. Wasim Jaffer responded, "Haha sure Michael, but let me get my ducks in a row first," to the former England captain's invitation to join him for a cup of tea.
In the opening ODI, Sanjana Ganesan mocks England's batters by calling them "crispy ducks."
Jasprit Bumrah was the star for India in the 10-wicket win over 50-over World Cup champions England at the Oval in the first ODI on Tuesday (July 12). While Bumrah claimed a career-best haul of 6/19 to bundle out England for 110, Bumrah's wife Sanjana Ganesan was the star off the field as she trolled the home side’s batters mercilessly and hilariously.
