Trent Boult is a New Zealand international cricket player. He represents Northern Districts in domestic cricket and New Zealand in international cricket. He is a left-arm-fast bowler.
Born on July 22, 1989, in Rotorua, New Zealand, He was named the fastest bowler in his country at age 17 during his school days. He was part of Otumoetai College's bowling programme and went on to play cricket for them. Ian Boult (Trent's father) played first-class cricket with the Northern Districts Cricket Club as well; while his mother Wendy Boult also had an active sports career by playing netball.
Trent Boult made his international debut against Australia on December 9, 2011. He played in the ODI series against West Indies in Basseterre on July 11, 2012. He made his debut in T20 in February in 2013 at Wellington's Basin Reserve Stadium where he took four wickets. Boult has transitioned seamlessly across all three formats of cricket.
Boult achieved success during a Test Series when he took nineteen wickets between England and New Zealand in November 2014.
He finally broke through big time when he went berserk taking 5/43 off 26 balls including 3 LBWs which left England bowled out for 112 within 47 overs.
As of February 2022, he has played 75 Test matches, taking 301 wickets with an average of 27.4 runs and an economy rate of 2.96.
During his 99 game ODI spell he has taken 169 wickets with an average of 25.2 runs.
In T20 cricket He has played in 44 games and managed to get 62 wickets.
