Ambati Rayudu is an international Indian cricketer who plays in the ODI and T20 formats for India. He also captained India in the 2004 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and has extensive IPL experience.
Ambati Rayudu’s Early Life
Rayudu was born on September 23, 1985, in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. His father's name is Sambasiva Rao and he used to work in the Department of Archeology.
Ambati Rayudu did his schooling at Bhavan’s Shri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya in Sainikpuri. He started playing cricket from the third grade. His father recognized his strong ability and sent him for cricket coaching soon afterwards.
Ambati Rayudu’s International Career
Rayudu made his first ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2013, playing an important role in India's victory by scoring 63 runs in the match.
He was selected in the 15-member Indian team for the 2015 ICC World Cup due to a 19.33 average in the tri-series against Australia and England. He made his T20 debut against England on September 7, 2014. As of March 2022, he has scored only 42 runs in six T20 matches and 1,694 runs in 55 ODIs at an average of 47.05.

Ambati Rayudu’s IPL Career
The right-handed batsman made his debut for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2011 and very soon joined the list of effective run-scorers. During IPL 2015, he scored 281 runs at an average of 145.
He started playing for Chennai Super Kings in 2018 and scored 602 runs, including one century. He has been retained by Chennai Super Kings since 2018.
Ahead of the 2022 IPL, he has scored 3,916 runs in 164 matches at an average of 29.44 in IPL. It is confirmed that Chennai Super Kings bought him for IPL 2022 at a price of 6.75 crores.

Rayudu married Chennupalli Vidya on February 14, 2009. She was his friend at college. On July 12, 2020, the couple had a daughter.
