Spanish teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz Garfia won against Oscar Otte of Germany 6-3, 6-1, 6-2 to book a fourth-round spot at Wimbledon to set up a clash with Jannik Sinne
The victory made him the youngest man since Bernard Tomic in 2011 to reach this stage at the prestigious Grand Slam event. In contrast, Jannik Sinner advanced to the fourth round after beating John Isner of the United States 6-4, 7-6(7-4), 6-3.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are set to lock horns on July 3 at Wimbledon in a match dubbed 'the future of men's tennis. The Spaniard is 19-year-old while the Italian is 20 years old. Both the youngster have been giving excellent performances and arrived at Wimbledon with equally comparable records and career paths. The players have shown their career-best performance at the tournament by advancing to the fourth round. They have both won five tour-level titles and had reached at most the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam.
The record for the best run at Wimbledon will be broken by whoever pushes through to win their much-awaited clash at the last 16 rounds. The players demonstrate the learning ability, movement and natural skills to prevail on grass despite having most of their experience on clay courts.
Carlos Alcaraz has surprised the tennis world by achieving the rank of Wolrd No. 7 and breaking into the Top 5 seeds at Wimbledon. Many tennis experts, including McEnroe, believe that the Spaniard is potential has the potential to become the top-ranked player on The Pepperstone ATP Rankings.

Carlos Alcaraz desolated Oscar Otte of Germany while dropping just six games. He said, "I played unbelievable today. It was my best performance so far. I am thrilled with the level and will try to keep this level in the next round. Every day that passes, I feel more ready on the grass.
While speaking about his upcoming clash with Jannik Sinner, the 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz said, "Right now, I would say Jannik, and I are the youngest players left in the draw, I think so. Well, maybe we are the most talented, more youthful players, but obviously, many young players also play unbelievable.
He added, "Outside the court, I have a good relationship with Jannik. I mean, I talk to him. I make some jokes when I see him in the locker room, off the court. Inside the court, I know him a little bit. I played him in Paris last year, and we trained a couple of times.
Jannik Sinner was born and grew up Tyrol mountain region of Italy. He used to play tennis, football and cricket, with tennis being his last preference. However, he felt like he had more potential to be influential on the tennis court and focused all his energy on tennis.
Jannik Sinner said I hope I can be part of this, for sure – a great rivalry. But everyone has his way. I still have to work a lot. So let's see what the future gives Carlos and me. I mean, we are both young. We are both great tennis players and good people. Yeah, hopefully, this can be the case.
