US Open: Exit day for Team Murray - Andy Murray and Jamie Murray crash out

Andy Murray couldn't overcome the power hitter Matteo Berrettini in the third round of the US Open. The Brit saved eight points before winning the third set and going down in the fourth.
Berrettini, a Wimbledon finalist last year, wrapped up the game in three hours and 47 minutes. He won 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-3 to set up a fourth-round clash in his bid for his first Grand Slam title.
Despite being down with Covid during Wimbledon, the 26-year-old Italian crushed the three-time Major winner's efforts. His strong serve, efficient backhand and powerful forehand ultimately worked in his favour.
He landed 69% of first serves in his third consecutive winning match over Murray, who only made 53% and was broken five times despite claiming to be fitter than before.
Murray conceded the first break of the match over a double fault. The second one occurred during the second set's first game after another double fault. However, he readjusted his return position and gained some momentum briefly.
In the seventh game of the second set, Murray landed a brilliant drop shot to seal a game but was broken during his next service game. He then sought help from coach Ivan Lendl which was inconsequential because the Brit sent a long backhand on the second set point.
Murray has resurfaced ten times from two sets down in Grand Slams, including four times here. He couldn't recreate history despite saving five break points in his first three service games in the third set.
Berrettini will now face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the round of 16.
Brother Jamie Murray and his doubles partner Bruno Soares lose the doubles match
Bruno Soares from Brazil and Scotsman Jaime Murray crashed the second round of the US Open when they were held down by the partnership of Frenchman Hugo Nys and Polish Jan Zielinski.
Bruno Soares will no longer be Brazil's number one in the ATP rankings. Soares and Murray, who won the US Open in 2016, fought in a match lasting one hour and 45 minutes.
However, they eventually lost 7-6 7-6 as they struck four aces against 13 struck by the Frenchman. In addition, Murray's team hit four double faults against five of the Brazilian's partnership.
They scored 27 winning balls against 44 by Zielinski and Nys, who made an equal number of unforced errors as Soares and Murray, 13. After the loss, Soares, ranked 33rd in the ATP, will possibly slide to the 47th position and will lose number one in Brazil.
Murray and his partner were the runners-up at the 2021 edition of the US Open
