Tennis News: ATP and WTA ranking update after Wimbledon

The ATP rankings after Wimbledon have drastically affected some players like Novak Djokovic, who has slipped to number seven and Matteo Berrettini, who is ranked outside of the top 10

Both of them were Wimbledon finalists last year, which means they earned the most points. However, it proved to be a loss in the long run when all points from Wimbledon were suspended; as a result, they had to give away a significant number of points. Djokovic lost 2000 and dropped from world number three to seven, while Berrettini lost 1200 and dropped to 15.

Nadal has now replaced Djokovic, Tsitsipas is next, followed by Ruud and then Alcaraz is in sixth place. Other shocking drops include Cristian Garin, who slid down 13 spots to number 56 despite delivering a better performance this year at Wimbledon than last year. Another player who slid down the ranking is Sebastian Korda, who dropped 13 spots to 59. Marton Fuscovics has dropped 38 places to number 97, the heaviest blow experienced by a ranked player post-Wimbledon.

Emma Raducanu climbs up while Coco Guaff slides down

A couple of tennis talents made some moves this Monday after Wimbledon, with Emma Raducanu debuting in a top 10 ranking while Coco Gauff moved to number 11. Wimbledon refrained from awarding points to the participants this year, but there were points deducted from last year. As a result, it culminated in turbulent shifts in the rankings, but the top bar remains intact. Iga Swiatek is at the top spot, and she still has a significant lead over new world number two Anett Kontaveit.

Sakkari has climbed to number three while Jabeur has climbed down to number five. Emma Raducanu has shifted from 11 to 10, which marks a new career-high. Coco Gauff almost cracked into the top 10 as she moved to number 11. Pliskova, who had reached the final last year, dropped eight spots to number 18. Angelique Kerber gave away 12 spots, with Tomljanovic dropping 27 spots to number 71.
