    Sonego will now square off against second-seeded compatriot Matteo Berrettini. In the meantime, Nick Kyrgios trounced Czech athlete Jiri Lehecka 7-6 (7/3), 6-3. The Australian was short of proper gear before his entry onto the court. His tennis bag arrived on Monday, and his indispensable grass shoes reached the tournament site with an hour remaining until the match took off. 

    Kazakhstan's top seed Alexander Bublik and his partner, Australian Nick Kyrgios, lost in the quarterfinal of the Stuttgart Open doubles in Germany. They were outclassed by French Fabrice Martin and German Andreas Mies 6-7, 6-7 in the quarterfinal of the doubles tennis tournament in Germany. In the match, Bublik and Kyrgios landed ten aces, made two double faults, and won four points and one game in a row. Later, Michael Venus and Tim Pütz won a tough quarterfinal match against Benjamin Bonzi and Arthur Rinderknech 7-6 3-6 10-7. Lastly, Rohan Bopanna and Canadian Denis Shapovalov's fight against Aleksandr Nedovyesov and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi was halted due to weather complications. The former leads the score 6-4 1-2.

    Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray thrashed seventh-seeded Alexander Bublik 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Thursday to book a spot in the Stuttgart Open quarterfinals. The 35-year-old Murray saved three set points and fought back from 5-2 down to pocket the match in one hour 42 minutes. Murray will encounter top-seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Stuttgart semifinals. The Greek international outclassed Swiss qualifier Dominic Stricker 6-3, 6-4 to earn his first win on grass since 2019. 

    The top seed lost to Frances Tiafoe in his only match last year at Wimbledon but found his form back in the rain-disrupted game that lasted 72 minutes. Tsitsipas now holds a tour-leading 35 victories this season, including his victory at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters in April. Meanwhile, Oscar Otte shockingly overpowered fourth-seeded Denis Shapovalov 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) and advanced to his third quarterfinal this year. The German will now encounter French player Benjamin Bonzi. Fans witnessed another shocker when Marton Fucsovics defeated third seed Hurkacz to reach the last 16 at the Stuttgart Open, winning 7-5 6-7 (7-) 6-3.
