Spanish star and world number one Carlos Alcaraz has been revealed as the newest ambassador for French fashion house Louis Vuitton on Wednesday morning.

Carlos Alcaraz has been announced as the newest ambassador for Louis Vuitton.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom, becoming the youngest world number one in men's singles tennis following his US Open win in 2022.

After briefly being pipped at the top of the rankings by French Open winner Novak Djokovic, the Spaniard restored himself as the world's top tennis star after claiming the Queen's Club Championships title in London.

Alcaraz revealed that he jumped at the opportunity to work with Louis Vuitton, citing his admiration for the brand as well as his interest in fashion as key factors.

"I was really invested from the start," said Alcaraz.

"For me, Louis Vuitton is really a brand that I have always looked to and when the opportunity to work with the team arose, it instantly felt like a perfect partnership."

In 2022 Alcaraz's clothing sponsor Nike provided him with a pair of custom sneakers that featured his famous Spanish slogan 'Cabeza, corazón y cojones' which means 'head, heart, balls', a motto he learned from his grandfather.

"I really want to know more about it and be more into fashion. I think it's a very interesting world and it excites me," added Alcaraz.

"What I can say is that I like having a wardrobe with basic timeless items, and then combining them with more fashion-led pieces.

"I've started wearing suits more frequently, and I really like wearing them on occasions when I need to and adding a fresh or modern touch, but without taking away from the elegance of the garment. I like that it hugs your body, that it's fitted rather than loose."

The eleven-time ATP Tour-level singles titles champion also revealed that he has been following the French fashion house for a while.

"I'd been waiting for Pharrell's first collection since he was named men's creative director at Louis Vuitton after the passing of Virgil (Abloh), who I've always really appreciated because of the legacy he has left in the world of fashion.

"The truth is that I feel very proud," concluded the former US Open champion.
