Djokovic, Nadal, and Alcaraz all in the same half Of the French Open Draw

Defending champion Novak Djokovic, 13-time winner Rafael Nadal and breakthrough legend Carlos Alcaraz have been drawn in the same half of the French Open on Thursday.

Nadal and Djokovic are expected to meet in the quarter-finals. 19-year-old Alcaraz is looking to win a Grand Slam men's title, and only seven teenagers have done so before him. He might encounter either Rafa or Nole in the semi-finals of the season's second Grand Slam. The Serb was deported from Australia this year after he disclosed his unvaccinated status and was exempted from playing the first Grand Slam of the year.

Djokovic is fired up to play his best tennis but considering his last-16 nailbiter against Lorenzo Musetti, exhausting five-setter against Stefanos Tsitspas in the final, having an excruciating semi-final against Nadal last year, things might not be easy for him in the upcoming edition. As Djokovic celebrates his 35th birthday on Sunday, he will 94th-ranked Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the first round on the same date. Meanwhile, Nadal will face Australia's, Jordan Thompson. The Spaniard would aim to extend his French Open record of only three defeats in 108 matches since his title-winning debut in 2005.

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal might be the end of Carlos Alcaraz's recent run of trophies

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who have a cumulative record of 41 Grand Slam titles, will try to decimate teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz at the French Open from Sunday. Only one will enter the Roland Garros final as all three of them are placed in the top half of the draw. Djokovic didn't play more than five tournaments in 2022 but walked into Paris with a sixth Italian Open title after becoming the fifth man to win 1,000 career matches. Now, he has two more Masters victories than Nadal, who has 35 making Djokovic the topper of the all-time list.

Meanwhile, Nadal dismissed concerns over the chronic foot issue in Rome last week. He confirmed his statement by practising in front of thousands of fans at Roland Garros without hiccups. Nadal started 2022 with a 20-match winning streak and won his second Australian Open title to claim a record 21st Grand Slam overcoming Djokovic and Roger Federer's 20 titles each. Djokovic has amassed two Roland Garros victories against Nadal, who has only three defeats in his record since his 2005 campaign.

One of those took place in the semi-final 12 months ago, where Nadal met Djokovic for the 58th time. Now, Alcaraz is expected to shake up their rivalry as a third person in the frame. He won his second Masters's title in Madrid, outclassing Nadal, Djokovic, and Zverev. Alcaraz, who secured 28 wins and just three defeats this year, kickstarts his bid on Sunday against Argentine player Juan Ignacio Londero, ranked at 141 but made the last 16 in 2019.
