American teenager Coco Gauff defeated Martina Trevisan of Italy 6-3, 6-1 at Stade Roland Garros on June 2 to progress to the French Open final
The victory made Coco Gauff the youngest player to reach the final at a Grand Slam since Maria Sharapova in 2004 and the youngest at French Open since Kim Clijsters in 2001. Iga Swiatek defeated Daria Kasatkina of Russia 6-2, 6-1 at Stade Roland Garros on June 2 to advance to the final at the French Open.
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek completely desolated her Russian opponent to win her 34th consecutive match with a straight-set victory to tie Serena Williams for the second-longest winning streak of the century. Since February, the 20-year-old Polish star has not lost dropped a match and is looking to win her second Rolland Garros trophy.
The 2020 French Open champion gave an early break to Daria Kasatkina an early break but dropped only three set points on Court Philippe Chatrier for the rest of the set after the break at 2-2. She won the last nine points and fired her only ace of the match to seal her victory after one hour and four minutes of play.
Iga Swiatek fired 22 winners to 13 unfocused errors compared to 10 winners and 23 unfocused errors by Daria Kasatkina. It was the first appearance of 20th seeded Russian at a Grand Slam semifinal.
After the victory, Iga Swiatek said, "I try to treat every match the same way, and if I realise this is one of the most important matches of the season, it stresses me out. So I listen to music. I listened to Led Zeppelin on the walkout. It pumps me up, and I use everything to help me
