Simona Halep suffers a panic attack during a second-round loss to Qinwen Zheng at Roland Garros

Qinwen Zheng defeated Simona Halep of Romania 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 at Stade Roland Garros on May 26 to progress to the third round of the French Open.

Simona Halep was the singles champion at Roland Garros in 2018. Qinwen Zheng took just under two hours to pull off the biggest win of her career in her second Grand Slam appearance, following her Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open earlier this year.

Simona Halep had a great start to the match and was a set, and a break before her Chinese opponent won eight straight games and pulled off a reversal. She later revealed that she had a panic attack during the second-round match. Halep said; I couldn't focus anymore. Now it's behind me, and I can smile again. I will learn from this episode. It was overthinking. I was leading. There was no reason. But it happened. I have to accept it. It happens to everybody.
