Glenn Phillips scored his second century of the tournament as New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by 65 runs in Saturday's T20 World Cup encounter
Kane Williamson chose to bat first after winning the toss, but New Zealand was unable to get off to a quick start. Furthermore, before Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell put together a fantastic 84-run stand, they were 15/3 inside the Powerplay.
As Phillips continued to pelt the Lankan bowlers with some eye-catching strokes, Mitchell took a backseat. The Kiwis were able to surpass the 165-run mark, and Phillips went on to score a stunning century.

Kasun Rajitha, one of Sri Lanka's two frontline spinners, stood out as the team's best player with the ball. In response, Sri Lanka was unable to move past the second gear, and the Kiwi pacers made sure to take early wickets as a result New Zealand won by 65 runs.
Trent Boult bowled brilliantly, taking four wickets. He crushed the Sri Lankan batting with the new ball. Overall, it was a dominant performance by New Zealand, and after losing those early wickets, Sri Lanka never really had a chance.
