And on paper, their squad screams' world champions. Many all-around options, match-winning bowlers and a hard-hitting battling line-up all add to a potentially winning combination.
However, World Cups are not won on paper. And England, despite a star-studded line-up, has had to dig deep and persevere.
Their close win over Afghanistan was followed by a wash-out against Australia and a shock Duckworth Lewis Stern method (DLS) loss against Ireland.
This left them in the unenviable position of having to win their next two matches – against New Zealand and Sri Lanka, respectively.
Thankfully they did what was needed, but now the focus shifts to what they will have to do. And luckily for them, they do have a few in-form match winners.
Alex Hales springs to mind as one of those players. The opener, who only made a return to the squad due to injuries and poor form, has been England's best batsman in this tournament.
He's been aggressive, helping the team get to quick starts. And he is comfortable in Australian conditions and against any form of bowling.
Then there's also Adil Rashid, who's been a spinner reborn over their past two matches. England's ploy for him against both Sri Lanka and India was simple: bowl in the middle overs, dry up the flow of runs – and maybe get a wicket or two.
He did that and entered the final a vital cog in the England cricket team. Let's remember his ability with the bat, even if he only comes in to bat at number 11 for the squad!
But speaking of bowlers, England have had another player in some fine form – Sam Curran. The younger Sam Curran brother was once seen as a prospect just for the most extended format of the game.
However, Sam Curran has added dimensions to his game. His ability to generate swing has been well known, but he's also added two critical facets to his game.
The first is variations, which he often lacked in the early parts of his career. The second is the ability to bowl in the death – a place he's often shone for his country.
Amazingly, England's playing XI is so strong that we still need to get to Sir Ben Stokes. England's Test captain hasn't always shone in the shortest format, but his ability is without question.
He's also a proper 3D player, irreplaceable with the bat, ball and in the field. And, perhaps most importantly, he can do well in big matches and high-pressure situations.
To sum up, the English team has several match winners on the side. And any of them could be the difference maker all by themselves.
England would hope that would be enough to see them become two-time T20 world champions.
