T20 World Cup 2022: Alex Hales Ignores Eoin Morgan During Interview
Alex Hales recently gave an interview in which he seemed to ignore Eoin Morgan's questions. This has caused some friction between the two England cricket stars
England's win against Sri Lanka not only booked their place in the T20 World Cup semi-finals, but it also ended defending champions Australia's journey in the Super 12 stage.
After the exciting match came to a close, Hales gave an interview with Sky Sports Cricket. In the midst of the interview, something awkward happened when former England captain Eoin Morgan was standing next to him but Hales completely ignored Morgan the entire time.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Interesting to note that Hales didn’t address Morgan once. Nor did Morgan ask him any questions. That animosity is still there between these too! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ENGvSL?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ENGvSL</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ICCT20WorldCup2022?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ICCT20WorldCup2022</a> <a href="https://t.co/ZEX1G8cxLF">pic.twitter.com/ZEX1G8cxLF</a></p>— Jonathan France (@FrenchayGC) <a href="https://twitter.com/FrenchayGC/status/1588857789442822144?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 5, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Hales was dropped from the England squad and missed the 2019 World Cup after failing a drug test not just once, but twice. This led to him being handed a 21-day suspension. Morgan, who was captain of the white-ball team at the time, didn't hesitate to give Hales the cold shoulder afterward.
But things took a turn this year when Morgan stepped down as captain, and Hales was recalled to the side for England's T20I series in Pakistan, which consists of seven matches.
