VIVO Pro Kabaddi League: Jai Bhagwan and Guman Singh lead U Mumba to their first win
U Mumba won against UP Yoddhas 30-23 in match 10 of the ninth season of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on October 10
U Mumba began the match aggressively and raced to a 5-2 lead in the seventh minute. Jai Bhagwan and Guman Singh forged ahead with the raids backed by Surinder Singh-led defense.
The Mumbai-based Kabaddi team maintained their lead as Rinku Hari pulled off a fantastic tackle against Surender Gill to make it 9-6. Jai Bhagwan made a few successful raids to further widen the lead to 14-9 by the end of the first half.
UP Yoddhas launched a counterattack early in the second half and narrowed the deficit to 15-13 as Surender Gill launched a brilliant raid. U Mumba defenders Rinku Hari and Kiran Magar made some excellent tackles to keep their team in the lead.
In the 30th minute, U Mumba raider Ashish performed an excellent raid to reduce UP Yoddhas to one player on the mat. They tackled Pardeep Narwal and launched an All Out to gain a comfortable 23-17 lead.
U Mumba further widened their lead to 28-18 as the defensive line of Mumbai bought their best game to the mat, attaining a 10-point lead in the 36th minute.
The U Mumba raiders shifted their focus to defence during the ending moments of the second half and closed out the match with a 30-23 victory. Jai Bhagwan racked up six raid points, while Gurman Singh scored five points.
U Mumba will lock horns with Tamil Thaliavas in their next VIVO Pro Kabaddi League clash on October 14.
Dabang Delhi K.C. beat Gujarat Giants 53-33 to register consecutive wins in VIVO Pro Kabaddi in the ninth season
Dabang Delhi K.C. won 53-33 over Gujarat Giants in the second match of VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season nine to win their second consecutive match. Naveen Kumar and Manjeet Chillar both registered their Super 10s.
The first half saw neither side able to attain a big lead as both squads began the match cautiously. Captain Naveen Kumar led the charge for Dabang Delhi K.C., while Rakesh Sangroya spearheaded the attack for Gujarat Giants.
In the second half of the first half, Naveen and Manjeet racked up a few quick points, while Rakesh pulled off a Super 10 for Gujarat.
Dabang Delhi K.C. made a Super Tackle early in the second half to thwart attempts by Gujarat Giants to bounce back into the game. Naveen Kumar finished his Super 10, and other raiders kept chipping in to further widen the lead for Dabang Delhi K.C.
Gujarat Giants worked hard to narrow the deficit, but all their efforts were in vain as the defending champions Delhi were at the top of their form and walked off the mat with a comfortable 55-3 victory.
