VIVO Pro Kabaddi League: Haryana Steelers beat Bengal Warriors 32-26 thanks to Jaideep and Meetu
Haryana Steelers gave an excellent performance in Match 114 of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League to secure a 32-26 victory over Bengal Warriors at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana, on December 2
Jaideep and Meetu emerged as the top point scorers for Haryana Steelers, clinching six points each to help their squad secure their third consecutive victory.
Shrikant Jadhav was the top raider for Bengal Warriors, racking up seven points, but his efforts were unsuccessful as his team failed to turn the tide.
Haryana Steelers began the match on a positive note as Manjeet started to the first with a bonus point, but Girish caught him. Soon after, Meetu got a tap on Vaibhav to secure a 2-1 lead for Haryana.
Jaideep carried out a robust tackle on Shrikant Jadhav's raid, followed by Deepak Hooda earning one point to level the score at 6-6.
Bengal Warriors took the lead after Vaibhav managed to trap Meetu into an ankle hold. A defensive error by Mohit allowed Bengal Warriors to widen the lead by two points further. However, Jaideep equalized the score once again with a super tackle.
The second half began with Meetu earning a quick raid point for Haryana Steelers. Minutes later, they carried out an All Out to widen the lead to 19-13. Rakesh Narwal made excellent use of his defensive skills to catch Deepak Hooda.
Haryana Steelers gained a nine-point lead by the end of the 30th minute, owing to the excellent pairing of Mohit and Jaideep earning points in quick succession.
Vijay Malik clinched two points for Bengal Warriors with a Super Tackle on points. Shrikanth kept picking up raid points to build pressure on Haryana Steelers, but Manjeet earned two points after a couple of errors by the Bengal side to ensure his side maintained their grip on the lead.
Rakesh carried out a fantastic Super Raid to pick up three points in the match's dying moments to secure a 32-26 victory for Haryana Steelers.
Bengal Warriors will next lock horns with Jaipur Pink Panthers in match 117 on December 3, while Harayana Steelers will face Jaipur Pink Panthers in match 121 of the Pro Kabaddi League season nine on December 5.
