VIVO Pro Kabaddi League: Bharat begins with Bengaluru Bulls fighting for a second-half draw against Patna Pirates
The VIVO Pro Kabaddi League clash between Bengaluru Bulls and Patna Pirates at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on October 23 came to an end with a 31-31 tie
Patna Pirates started to set the pace as Sachin carried out a few effective raids to help them gain a 6-4 lead in the ninth minute. They launched an All-Out to further widen the lead to 12-5 in the 11th minute.
Bharat performed an excellent raid for Bengaluru Bulls, but Patna maintained their momentum into halftime with a 19-10 lead.
Bengaluru Bulls discovered their rhythm early in the second half as they managed to tackle Rohit Gulia. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh walked onto the mat as Patna Pirates attempted to extend their lead.
Three-time champions Patna Pirates gave a tough time to the Bengaluru raiders until the 34th minute. To level the score at 31-31, the Karnataka-based franchise carried an All-Out, followed by raids and a tackle.
Bharat played was the top raider for Bengaluru Bulls with 11 points. In contrast, Rohit Gulia was the top raider for Patna Pirates with eight raid points.
Bengaluru Bulls will next lock horns with Defending champions Delhi Dabanag K.C. in match 45 of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune, on October 29.
U.P. Yoddhas defeat Tamil Thalaivas to record their third win of the season
U.P. Yoddhas put forth an excellent display of their defensive capabilities to secure a 41-24 victory over Tamil Thalaivas at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on October 24.
Tamil Thalaivas took out star defenders Pardeep Narwal and Surender Gill at the very beginning of the match. U.P. Yoddhas did not falter and soon carried out an All-Out to gain a commanding 10-5 lead.
Both squads were excellent on the raiding front, but U.P. Yoddhas dominated on the defensive front. Pradeep Narwal took out Aahil Gulia and Himanshu on a Do-or-Die raid, leaving just one Tamil Thalaivas defender on the map.
Tamil Thalaivas tried to mount a comeback in the second half but failed to match up to the superior defence of their opponents. Rathan K pulled off a great raid in the final minute to help U.P Yoddhas make it 41-21, helping them clinch their third victory.
Pardeep Narwal becomes the first player to reach 1400 raid points
Star raider Pradeep Narwal became the first player to reach 1400 raid points in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League after racking up six points for U.P. Yoddhas in the clash against Tamil Thalaivas.
Pradeep Narwal was praised for the achievement by U.P. Yoddhas captain Niresh and coach Jasveer Singh.
In a post-match conference, Jasveer Singh said, “1400 raid points is a massive achievement, but I think he will cross 1500 this season. Pardeep Narwal added, “This season, I will cross 1600, sir.”
