Vivo Pro Kabaddi: Aslam Inamdar shines for Puneri Paltan, now first in the table
Puneri Paltan gave an excellent performance in Match 96 of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League to secure a 39-32 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on November 23
Aslam Imandar gave a fantastic performance and emerged as the best player for Puneri Paltan, racking up nine points during the match as Puneri Paltan strengthened their grip at the top spot on the table with 64 points from 17 games, six points ahead of Bengaluru Bulls.
Jaipur Pink Panthers began the match on an aggressive note as Arjun Deshwal clinched a few points to help them gain a 6-3 lead. One minute later, Arjun Deshwal was tackled by Sambir, and Mohit Goyat pulled off a quick raid to make it 6-8.
Aslam Inamdar performed his first successful raid in the match in the ninth minute and equalized the score. Puneri Paltan carried on with their winning momentum and gained a 16-14 lead with a magnificent All-Out in the 17th minute of the match.
Mohit Goyat made a multi-point raid to reduce Jaipur Pink Panthers to just two players in the opening moments of the second half. Puneri Paltan launched another All-Out quickly to tighten their grip on the match with a 27-18 lead.
Jaipur Pink Panthers roared back to stay in the match as Arjun Deshwal caught Abinesh Nadarajan and Fazel Atrachali with a great raid. However, Mohit Goyat kept scoring points consistently, while Aslam Imandar brought his best game to the mat before Puneri Paltan secured a comfortable 39-32 victory.
Arjun Deshwal gave an excellent performance, racking up 19 points, but his efforts needed more without sufficient backing from his fellow Jaipur Pink Panther Raiders.
The win made Fazel Atrachali the most successful captain in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League, with 52 victories under his belt, one more than his former coach, Anup Kumar.
Puneri Paltan will next lock horns with Telugu Titans in match 102 of the Pro Kabaddi League season nine on November 26.
