Pro Kabaddi News: Five all-rounders to watch out for in season nine
The ninth season of the Pro Kabaddi League is set to take place in the cities of Hyderabad, Pune, and Bengaluru in India from October 7
All-rounders have played a crucial role in the success of top Kabaddi teams in the previous seasons. The ability to contribute to both attack and defence for the team makes all-rounders an essential asset.
With the 2022 Pro Kabaddi League around the corner, let's look at five all-rounders who can impress the fans this season.
Vijay Malik
Team: Dabang Delhi KC
All-rounder Vijay Malik played a crucial role in the maiden title victory of Dabang Delhi KC in the eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League. The 28 years old Kabaddi sensation clinched five tackle points and 157 raid points for Dabang Delhi KC in the previous season.
Vijay Malik will have to focus more on the defensive side instead of raiding due to a lack of an experienced group of defenders in the squad of Dabang Delhi KC this season.
Rohit Gulia
Team: Patna Pirates
Rohit Gulia is looking forward to a fresh start after having an average season with Haryana Steelers, clinching 69 points in 15 matches. Former Gujrat Giants captain Rohit Gulia will play for Patna Pirates alongside his Gujarat Giants teammate Sachin Tanwar this season.
Mohsen Maghsoudlou
Team: Telugu Titans
Iranian national Mohsen Maghsoudlou emerged as a crucial asset for U Mumba when star defender Fazel Atrachali struggled last season. He is now back with Telugu Titans, where he started his Pro Kabaddi League journey in season five.
Nitin Rawal
Team: Haryana Steelers
Nitin Rawal spent the last four years of his Pro Kabaddi League career with Jaipur Pink Panthers. However, the Jaipur-based kabaddi franchise decided not to retain him this season.
Haryana Steelers have signed Nitin Rawal as their only all-rounder for this season. Nitin Rawal has earned 192 points in 59 matches in his Pro Kabaddi League career, as well as one High 5 and two Super 10s.
Deepak Niwas Hooda
Team: Bengal Warriors
Deepak Niwas Hooda is undoubtedly one of the top all-rounders in the Pro Kabaddi League. The 28 yeas old Haryana native has clinched a whopping 1042 raid points in 157 matches in his career so far.
Deepak Niwas Hooda said, "This year will be different, wait and watch. See my performance in this PKL 9 season. It will be like how it was at my peak. You will see me excelling in raiding and defending."
