Pro Kabaddi League: Pardeep Narwal helps UP Yoddhas beat U Mumba
The inimitable Pardeep Narwal was on fire as U.P Yoddhas performed superbly to defeat U Mumba 38-28 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Friday
Pardeep Narwal was the game star for the UP Yoddhas with 13 points; Rohit Tomar (8 points) and Sumit (4 points) provided ample support and helped them to a decisive victory.
After a slow few minutes at the start, U Mumba came out of the blocks the quickest and got things rolling with Guman Singh's attacks.
Pardeep Narwal and the U.P. Yoddhas soon followed suit as the crowd made their presence felt from the start. Rohit Tomar and Sandeep Narwal supported Pardeep as U.P Yoddhas equalised after 9 minutes.
As the first half progressed, both sides exchanged blows constantly before Pardeep of U.P Yoddhas put his side ahead with a super raid. Nitesh Kumar led the next tackle and made it an all-out as U.P Yoddhas extended their lead.
Soon the momentum was on the side of Pardeep Narwal and Co. as they went into the breather with a 19-14 lead for U.P Yoddhas.
Guman had Surinder Singh and Heidarali Ekrami actively supporting him to extend the U.P Yoddhas' lead early in the second half as Pardeep inched closer to another Super 10.
With just over ten minutes to go, thanks to U Mumba's determination, the game was on a knife's edge as the score read 22-20 in favour of the UP Yoddhas.
The U Mumba team applied pressure on their opponents before a great tackle by Sumit on Guman gave the U.P Yoddhas some breathing room.
Time was not on U Mumba's side as they faced a challenging task in the final minutes, especially with Pardeep Narwal scoring several crucial raid points. With 4 minutes to go, U.P Yoddhas had a 10-point lead.
U Mumba threw everything at the U.P Yoddhas in the final minutes, but Pardeep Narwal and co. had none of it and won in commanding fashion in the end.
