Pro Kabaddi League: Sandeep Narwal added to UP Yoddhas in mid-season
In an exciting turn of events, UP Yoddhas have recently added Sandeep Narwal to their team mid-season. The reason is the team's poor form in the ongoing Season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League
Sandeep Narwal is one of the oldest and best all-rounders in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League. Unfortunately, he went unsold in season 9 after his depleting form in the past seasons.
Despite not being sold in season 9, Narwal has now been acquired by UP Yoddhas mid-season to improve their performance in the remaining of the season.
"Mid-season signing ho to aisi. U.P. Yoddhas swagat karte hai adbhut all-rounder Sandeep Narwal ka, humare Yoddhas parivaar mein (Mid-season signing should be like this. UP Yoddhas welcome the amazing all-rounder Sandeep Narwal to the family)," wrote UP Yoddhas on Instagram.
Nitesh Kumar, the captain of UP Yoddhas and their star defender, hasn't been in excellent form and has also given up the captaincy in the hands of Pardeep Narwal.
Due to the lack of form on the part of Nitesh and Sumit, another defender with the team, UP Yoddhas is looking forward to improving their defence with the addition of Sandeep Narwal.
Sandeep has also gotten old and started losing his form, so much so that he went unsold in season 9; trying their luck with Sandeep is a risk worth taking.
In 149 matches played by Sandeep Narwal, he scored 623 points (both raid and tackle). He made 64 points in season 8 for Dabang Delhi KC. His unsuccessful tackles in season 8 left him teamless this season; however, the veteran all-rounder is now back in the game. It remains to be seen whether UP Yoddhas benefits from this new mid-season addition to the team.
