In addition to allowing a live audience this season, there are many more changes made in the rules to make the game fairer this time.

Here are three rule changes in season nine that many fans are not aware of:

    Lobby Rule

Experts and commentators have criticized Lobby Rule on various occasions in the game.

According to the lobbying rule, he is out if a raider enters the lobby area without touching a defender. Similarly, if defenders tackle a raider once he has entered the lobby area, the defender(s) are out.

This rule has awarded many unfair points to teams, and that has welcomed rage on the part of the team losing the points and their fans.

This season, this rule has been tweaked in order to prevent such an unfair game. This rule change has been welcomed by all parties involved with open arms.

Eight substitutions are allowed in place of six

Till season eight, only five substitutions were allowed during the game, and one during halftime.

From season nine, a new rule has been added where still five substitutions are allowed during the game, and one during half time; however, two substitutions can be made during the two strategic timeouts that are permitted during the game.

With this rule change, each team can now make eight substitutes during the game instead of only six, which was previously allowed.

14 players are allowed in the match day squad instead of 12

Till season eight, only 12 players were allowed in the match-day squad. Now the rule has been changed to allow 14 players in the match-day squad.

With this new rule, young players can now play more matches. Similarly, the coaches will also have an option of more substitutes.

With more experience, the young players will be in a better position to replace an injured player than in the seasons before season nine.
