Pro Kabaddi League: Jaipur Pink Panthers extend unbeaten streak after the win against Bengal Warriors
Jaipur Pink Panthers celebrated their fourth consecutive victory in the ninth season of the Pro Kabbadi League (PKL). On Tuesday, they overpowered a strong Bengal Warriors side to win 39-24 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru
Arjun Deshwal's effortless contribution eked out another Super 10 in the league. Fellow raider V Ajith Kumar was another high-scoring raider for the Jaipur Pink Panthers.
Bengal Warriors were leading in the first few minutes, a significant acquisition of raids by Deepak Hooda and Shrikant Jadhav. The Panthers sped up gradually and earned a three-point lead to 10-7 in the 13th minute.
Ajith pushed hard until the Warriors were left with two players on the mat. They wiped out Hooda in the 14th minute to throw in the first all-out of the match.
The Jaipur-based side caught Maninder Singh easing into a 16-9 lead. Their lead increased to eight points at 20-12 by the end of the first half. The Warriors doubled the aggression in the second half with a raid by Shrikant Jadhav and a tackle by Shubham Shinde.
Their efforts paled compared to Deshwal's dominating outpour of raids that enabled his team to pedal forward to victory. Raider Bhavani Rajput left his mark, too, as the Panthers darted ahead at 25-16.
Skipper Sunil Kumar challenged Jadhav in the 31st minute, and the Panthers secured another all-out. Deshwal was unstoppable even in the game's final seconds, and the Pink Panthers took another win home.
Puneri Paltan thrashes a struggling Telugu Titans to move ahead in the game
Puneri Paltan trounced Telugu Titans 26-25 in their latest PKL match at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Both teams fought each other till the last second of the game.
Top raider Aslam Inamdar executed a stunning performance, and his last-minute winner was notably one of the most memorable moments in the match.
The match started slow, and the first half was built around caution. Both teams held back, and Puneri Paltan's Mohit Goyat's touchpoints worked very well defensively.
Puneri slid into half-time with an 11-9 lead, and after the break, they looked even more dominating in their approach. They secured their first all-out in the match shortly after and boasted a 16-11 lead.
The Titans were, however, unwilling to let it slide and a super tackle by Surjeet Singh reduced the deficit to three points. Mohammad Nabibakhsh was the recipient of the tackle.
Shortly after, Vinay pulled off a super raid on three Paltan players - Mohit Goyat, Rakesh Ram, Sanket Sawant - and landed a bonus, as the Titans secured a 22-21 lead.
However, in the closing stages, both sides were 25-25 until Inamdar capitalised on an error to pluck the victory.
