Pro Kabaddi League: Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Tamil Thalaivas 41 - 26 and move up to the second place
Arjun Deshwal and Ankush's strategic placement at either end of the mat helped Jaipur Pink Panthers to an easy win over Tamil Thalaivas in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season nine at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium here on Friday
Arjun Deshwal (12 points), V Ajith (9 points), and Ankush (5 points) led the Pink Panthers to a 41-26 win over the Tamil Thalaivas that lifted them to the second spot in the table.
Arjun Deshwal, V Ajith, and Rahul Chaudhari have laid the foundation for Jaipur's success this season. The trio was also very successful here, scoring quick points early in the game to give the Jaipur Pink Panthers an early lead.
The quick start unsettled the Tamil Thalaivas, and they soon faced an all-out. It took a super tackle from Himanshu to slow the momentum. The Jaipur Pink Panthers scored their first all-out after 10 minutes to take a 14-8 lead.
The raids of Arjun Deshwal and V Ajith were only one end of the battle. On the other end, the Jaipur defense stood rock solid in front of Narender, allowing the young attacker only a single point from his eight attacks in the first half. The Pink Panthers went into the break with a 20-13 lead.
Similar to the first half, the Pink Panthers started strong in the second half and again allowed the Tamil Thalaivas to step on thin ice. It took a super tackle by Himanshu against Deshwal to prevent a second all-out.
The fightback didn't faze the Tamil Thalaivas, and the raider-defender combination of Ajinkya Pawar and Himanshu slowly extended the lead.
However, the surge didn't last long, and when Deshwal was back on the mat, the Jaipur Pink Panthers made it 33-23 with a second all-out.
From then on, the Jaipur Pink Panthers didn't let up in their intensity and ended up with a clear victory that moved them into second place in the standings.
