Pro Kabaddi League: Haryana Steelers bounce back with a big win against Tamil Thalaivas
Substitutes Sushil and Rakesh Narwal led Haryana Steelers' charge against Tamil Thalaivas as they ended their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 campaign with a win
On Saturday, Haryana Steelers defeated Tamil Thalaivas 61-38 at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.
Taking advantage of the platform provided by the PKL, the Haryana Steelers wore telephone number 1091 on their jerseys to draw attention to the hotline set up by the Haryana government and police for women to report domestic violence.
The Tamil Thalaivas got off to a quick start and took an early 2-0 lead before Vinay helped the Haryana Steelers turn the game around with a series of attacks.
However, Tamil Thalaivas stayed within reach for a while before Rakesh Narwal scored an all-out to give Haryana Steelers some breathing space.
For the Tamil Thalaivas, Visvanath scored the crucial points even as the Haryana Steelers continued to extend their lead. As the game progressed, the Haryana Steelers got increasingly into the swing as the defensive and offensive units were well-matched.
When the players went into the half-time break, Haryana Steelers led Tamil Thalaivas 28-12.
As expected, the Haryana Steelers started the second half strong, scoring the first five points to extend their lead before the Tamil Thalaivas scored a point of their own.
Rakesh had taken the lead in attack and was soon marching towards his Super 10 in the second half. Sushil and Naveen Kundu supported Rakesh and helped the Haryana Steelers put pressure on their opponents.

Sushil had taken over the baton from Rakesh as Haryana Steelers reached the half-century mark with just over five minutes to go. The Tamil Thalaivas upped the ante in the final minutes, but a comeback was impossible as the Haryana Steelers ended up with a high-scoring victory.
