Pro Kabaddi League auctions: Players to watch for Season 2022
The eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) started on December 22, 2021, and ended on February 25
The main attraction of the previous season was the players, some of whom were bought for whopping amounts. The players' auction for the eighth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 2021) was held from August 29 to August 31, 2021, in Mumbai. Here is a list of players to watch out for when the next edition starts!
Pardeep Narwal
Narwal is no less than the king of the mat and was sacked by UP Yoddha for 1.65 crores making him the most expensive player in the league's history. The 24-year-old has clinched three titles with Patna Pirates and is determined to push UP Yoddha to its first piece of silverware. Pardeep is the leading scorer in PKL's history, but his failure to meet expectations in 2022 rained heavily on the star raider. He earned 188 points as compared to the previous season's 304 points.
Chandran Ranjit
Chandran is one of the brightest raiders of India who plays for the Bengaluru Bulls in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League. He has adorned the jersey of the Telegu Titans, Gujarat Fortune Giants, and Dabang Delhi in the previous editions of PKL. Chandran is lauded for his impeccable mobility and strength that pull raiders towards the centerline. He was sold for INR 80lakhs.
Arjun Deshwal
Arjun Deshwal is an Indian Category B raider who plays for the Jaipur Pink Panthers team in Pro Kabaddi and represents Services in Senior National Kabaddi Championship. He became the third-most most expensive player in Pro Kabaddi Season eight at INR 96 lakhs. He scored 267 raid points in 22 matches which have clubbed him among the best raiders in the league.
Sachin Patna
Sachin Tanwar currently adorns the jersey of the Patna Pirates in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi league and is a part of the Indian national kabaddi team. In his debut campaign, the raider cracked into the top 10 raid point scorers in the league and repeated the same in the subsequent season. He has amassed 1366 raid points in 96 matches spawning his entire career.
Manjeet
Delhi-based Manjeet turned heads in his maiden appearance in VIVO Pro Kabaddi by scoring eight points for Patna Pirates, just three less than the king of mat Pardeep Narwal. His height adds to his strength as a raider, and he conveniently uses his arms to score touch points and his legs to move across the mat. He got a Super 10 in only his ninth match in the league.
Siddharth Desai
Siddharth Desai, also known as the Baahubali of the kabaddi world, was retained by the Telugu Titans for INR 1.3crores. The muscular raider was ruled out of the eighth season due to a wrist injury, but he scored 64 points in the three matches he played. However, he is expected to take the league by storm in the upcoming edition. He had scored 218 raid points and 221 points from 21 matches played in season six, making him the fastest player in PKL history to reach 50 raid points in just four games.
