Pro Kabaddi League: Arjun Deshwal and Rahul Chaudhari help Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Dabang Delhi KC
Rahul Chaudhari and Arjun Deshwal drove Jaipur Pink Panthers to a pulsating 57-32 victory against defending champions Dabang Delhi KC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday
Both raiders topped the raid tally with 13 points each. Rahul Chaudhari started the raiding extravaganza as the Pink Panthers zoomed to a 6-3 lead. It was followed by an All-Out, and they extended their lead.
They were challenged by Vijay Kumar and Ravi Kumar, the duo responsible for keeping Delhi afloat. However, Rahul Chaudhari pulled off a Super Raid that took out Vishal, Naveen Kumar, Ravi Kumar, and Krishan, which paved the path for another All-out.
They eased into a 22-11 lead and, by the end of the first half, settled the score at 27-13. Arjun Deshwal effected a raid in the 24th minute and widened the gap to 33-18.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers' then caught Manjeet, and the opposition was left with two players on the mat. Shortly after, Arjun Deshwal secured a raid to help his team inflict their second All-Out.
The Jaipur Pink Panthers were in a highly lopsided contest with a 38-20 lead in the 28th minute. Delhi could barely even touch the Jaipur Pink Panthers’ defence and was out of their depths in front of Jaipur raiders.
They conceded another All-Out in the 35th minute, and the Jaipur Pink Panthers were sure of a victory. They continued to press on after 49-26 and ultimately clinched a well-deserved win.
They currently sit second in the rankings and are a point behind toppers Puneri Paltan. Meanwhile, Delhi only won a single match out of their last eight games and is ranked eighth.
Captain Naveen Kumar has also not been in good form over the last few matches, which increases concern for a struggling Delhi side.
UP Yoddhas beat Telugu Titans and entered the top six
UP Yoddhas clinched a 41-30 victory over Telugu Titans in the second game of PKL season nine on Saturday. Surender Gill steals the show with 13 points but Siddharth Desai's 11 points couldn't save Telugu from sinking.
Although the Telegu Titans are glued to the bottom of the table, they put in a decent effort at the start of the match. They engaged the UP Yoddhas in a brief trade-off as both teams stayed out of tackles.
The first tackle point was recorded 10 minutes into the match. Surender Gill caught Vishal Bhardwaj, Mohsen Maghsoudlou, Parvesh Bhainswal, and Ankit with a Super-Raid.
The Titans were reduced to two players on the mat, and the UP Yoddhas inflicted their first All-Out to take an 18-11 lead. Surender Gill was flawless with his raids, and he took nine points in the first half.
The UP Yoddhas were six points ahead at 21-15 at the break. The Telegu Titans returned with more power in the second half, unlike what has been observed so far.
Soon, an All-Out entered the picture, but the UP Yoddhas' Mahipal effected a Super-Raid that became the reason behind the UP Yoddhas' victory. After a second All-Out by UP with seven minutes to go, they carved out a 36-24 lead and then condemned the Titans to their 10th consecutive loss.
The Titans are seemingly in a prolonged raiding crisis. Rajnish sustained an injury, Adarsh T is not in form, and Siddharth Desai has failed to impress. Even their defence is afflicted by shortcomings implying the need for the team to work on their squad for the upcoming matches.
