Pawan Sehrawat became the most expensive player in the history of PKL as Tamil Thalaivas bought him for 2.26 Crores after fighting aggressively with other major franchises.

Meanwhile, Vikash Kandola and Fazel Atrachali were sold at extravagant prices after an aggressive bidding war between franchises.

While old, successful, and well-established players were sold at enormous prices, the franchises also showed great interest in some debutants, taking their selling prices way above their base price.

Here is a list of 5 debutants who were shown great confidence in the bidding franchises during the PKL 9 auction.

    • Amirhossein Bastami (Haryana Steelers)

The Iranian debutant, Amirhossein Bastami, was sold at a price way above his base price of 10 Lakhs. Bastami was the most expensive player in category C as Haryana Steelers bought him for 65.10 Lakhs.

Bastami has been the captain of the Iran Juniors team, under whose leadership the team won the World Cup. Given his accomplishments and expertise in the game as a kid, it is not surprising that he has been bought at such a colossal price despite being a debutant.

He shall play as a defender for Haryana Steelers, and his performance in the upcoming season shall be closely watched by all fans and, most importantly, all franchises.

    • Shankar Gadai (Gujarat Giants)

Gujarat Giants bought Shankar Gadai, the captain of the Maharashtra Kabaddi team, in the PKL 9 auctions held on August 5 and 6. He has made this list because he is another one of the debutants sold for a price above their base price for reasons of their competence and talent.

He was sold to Gujarat Giants for Rs. 30.30 Lakhs because he has been one of the greatest players in Maharashtra.

He recently led his team to the final of the Senior National Championship and ended up with a silver medal. In the past, his team has also won the Maharashtra State Kabaddi Championship under his captaincy.

    • Kiran Magar (U-Mumba)

Despite not having any substantial accomplishments in the field of Kabaddi, U-Mumba bought Kiran Magar for a whopping 31 lakhs.

The fact that U-Mumba has reposed its faith in the player, who doesn't have any substantial accomplishments to show, is an excellent reason for fans to watch him on the screen this season.

    • Reza Mirbagheri (Jaipur Pink Panthers)

Sold for Rs. 26. 80 lakhs to Jaipur Pink Panthers ahead of season 9, Reza Mir is another of the talented Iran players making his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League this season.

With the inflow of many talented Iran players in the league, Reza Mir will also be expected to meet the standards set by his predecessors.

He has won a Junior World Cup and seeing his performance in the tournament, Jaipur Pink Panthers have reposed their faith in them.

    • Heidarali Ekrami (U-Mumba)

Another talented Iran player, Heidarali Ekrami, will be seen playing for U-Mumba in the upcoming season.

The Franchise bought him for Rs. 14 Lakhs, and his incredible performance at Iran's Junior World Championship made it pertinent that he makes his debut in PKL this season.

It remains to be seen how his performance in his debut season for U-Mumba goes.
