Pro Kabaddi League 2022: Telugu Titans beat U Mumba to break their 12 consecutive losing streak
In match no. 88, Telugu Titans put up a brilliant performance to beat U Mumba 32-26 and end their 12-match game-losing streak in Pro Kabaddi League 2022. Siddharth Desai was the star performer of the home team with 9 points
Cheered on by the home fans, the Titans fought back from an early deficit to win the match, which was played at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
U Mumba made a lightning start in the opening stages, with Guman Singh and Kiran Magar taking the lead. The U-Mumba side kept the Titans at bay and maintained the lead, especially as the defensive unit chipped in.
Midway through the first half, Guman managed a super raid that further reinforced the Titans' dominance, even as Abhishek Singh did all he could for the Titans with his attacks.
However, Siddharth Desai in attack and Ankit in defence initiated the home side's comeback and equalised less than three minutes before the end of the first half. Mohsen Maghsoudlou added more bite to the Titans' attack, but U Mumba led by one point at the break (15-14).
The second half started slower than the first, and there were a couple of empty attacks in the early stages.
Abhishek Singh put the Titans ahead for the first time on the night with 14 minutes to go, leaving the home fans cheering. However, a super tackle by the U Mumba side on Abhishek put the Titans back in front with 10 minutes remaining in what proved to be a low-scoring game.
The game continued to see-saw back and forth in the closing stages, with the Titans scoring an all-out to take a three-point lead.
After that, Parvesh Bhainswal and Vishal Bhardwaj turned it up in the game's final minutes, and the Titans got their long-awaited win.
