Ukraine and Everton's Vitaliy Mykolenko discusses the Russian invasion

His decision to criticize Dzyuba and his teammates is a direct consequence of their silence regarding Russia's attack on Ukraine.

Vitaliy turns up the heat on conflict 

Ukraine's Vitaliy Mykolenko, who joined Everton from Dynamo Kyiv in January, played the FA Cup tie against Boreham Wood scheduled on March 3, 2022  ( Everton won 2-0) His decision to criticize Dzyuba and his teammates is a direct consequence of their silence regarding Russia's attack on Ukraine.

Vitaliy Mykolenko used his social media presence to condemn his Russian counterparts. Russia is now barred from participating in international competitions by FIFA and UEFA. Everton manager Frank Lampard supports the 22-year old's stance despite the controversy it has invited. He thinks that "the training and the potential of playing is a relief for him. He also said, "The conversations I've had with him I'd rather keep private because they are delicate, but at the moment we're giving him all the support and I'm sure he feels that from our end."

Frank Lampard's Support 

Frank Lampard further extended his empathy to the Ukrainian newcomer and put things in perspective for fans. Regarding Mykolenko's transfer, Frank stated, "He's a new player here so there's so many things that have happened to him, let alone moving over here as a young man, coming to a different country, a different city, and a different football club. He's now having to contend with all this so he has all our support on that front."

Vitaliy Mykolenko supported Ukraine team-mate Oleksandr Zinchenko during Everton's match against Manchester City on Saturday. Everton fans hyped up the pair as they exited the game clad in Ukraine flags. Mykolenko was kept as a substitute in their 1-0 loss against the defending team although Everton manager Frank Lampard is positive about his debut against Boreham Wood in the fifth-round clash on Thursday.
