Premier League: Who would be the next EPL coach to be fired?
The 2022/23 Premier League season took off in August but has already seen four significant departures. Bournemouth sacked Scott Parker after the Cherries' embarrassing 9-0 defeat against Liverpool
Soon after, Chelsea's new owner Todd Boehly showed Thomas Tuchel the door as the team recovered from three losses in seven matches across all competitions.
His exit was followed by Graham Potter's resignation from Brighton and Hove Albion. He was named the new manager at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Portuguese coach Bruno Lage was sacked by Wolves, who had procured one win in eight matches this term. Steven Gerrard was sacked last week by Aston Villa and was replaced by Villarreal boss Unai Emery as the new head coach.
Now, let's look at possible future sackings in the Premier League.
Ralph Hasenhuttl - Southampton
Ralph Hasenhuttl is bogged down by Southampton's lacklustre start to the new season. The Saints dropped into the relegation zone after a five-match winless draw, including four defeats and one draw since their 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
They've experienced single-goal defeats against Wolves, Aston Villa and Everton. They held draws against West Ham, but the Wolves win over Nottingham Forest pushed Southampton to the relegation zone. Now, the man held partially responsible for Southampton's ill fate is Ralph Hasenhuttl.
If he does get sacked, we could see former Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard take charge as the new manager. The Liverpool veteran could initiate positive changes in the club despite his underwhelming record as a manager.
Brendan Rodgers - Leicester City
Leicester City slipped into the relegation zone after a stressful summer window where they lost their star defender Wesley Fofana to the Blues. Furthermore, they were inactive during the transfer phase.
They only won two matches this season and are now stagnating at the lower berth of the rankings ahead of Nottingham Forest. They are now arguably the team with the worst defence in Premier League, having already conceded 24 goals.
Rodgers had stated that he didn't need a vote of confidence from the board, revealing that he had refused two offers from other clubs. However, things look alarming for the coach. If Leicester City appoints a new coach, we believe Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch might receive a chance.
Jesse Marsch - Leeds United
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch has reassured that the board sides with him, but his team is at risk of sliding into the relegation zone. Leeds is now marginally ahead of third-bottom Wolves, having only scored two points from seven winless games.
They lost 0-2 to Leicester City and elicited boos from the crowd. The fans were further outraged by Marsch's decision to replace Colombian winger Luis Sinisterra in the game's closing minutes.
The visiting supporters were appalled by the American, who replaced Marcelo Bielsa eight months ago." Marsch clarified that his seemingly cold behaviour towards fans had nothing to do with them. He was worried about his team and the repercussions of facing another disappointing defeat,
Marsch's sacking will be under consideration if they continue to lose more matches. In that case, they could try to bring former Paris Saint Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino as the new manager.
Jurgen Klopp - Liverpool
Liverpool owners FSG are likely to sack Jurgen Klopp if the team finishes outside the Premier League top four. However, their recent 1-0 victory against Premier League champions Manchester City at Anfield puts Klopp outside the red zone for now.
Liverpool is currently ranked seventh in the table, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal. The Reds have won four league matches so far this season.
Klopp's side found some footing in Europe, winning their last three games after an opening defeat to Napoli. So Klopp is not in immediate danger of being sacked. However, the Reds have been linked to former Celtic head coach Ange Postecoglou in that regard.
