IPL : Dugout Gossips during the weekend
While every match of the Indian Premier League goes down to the nerves while approaching the end, there's something special about weekend clashes. The power-packed Super Weekend adds to the thrill and excitement from Saturday noon to Sunday night.
Ishan Kishan's bizarre dismissal
The young fellow has struggled with his form in the ongoing IPL season. Despite getting off to a blazing start in the first two matches, he looks to work on finding his shots right. Apart from his form, the luck, too, seemed to desert the player in the clash against LSG. The ball bowled by Ravi Bishnoi to the batter would have been wide if the batter had allowed to pass it from under the bat, but instead, he reached for it, and the ball got stuck on Quinton de Kock's boots to bounce and landed in the hands of Jason Holder.
Mahela Jayawardene said, "We have had conversations with him [Ishan Kishan]; even today when Rohit was batting well, he struggled. That is a conversation I have to have with him after this game. But, yeah, definitely not what we are looking from him [Ishan Kishan] up at the top,"
Krunal sends off Pollard with a goodbye kiss
Krunal Pandya delivered a brilliant spell in the final over of LSG against MI to take three wickets. The unique thing about it was him dismissing Kieron Pollard. The bowler celebrated the wicket by kissing the right-hand batter on the head. Earlier in the game, Kieron Pollard dismissed Krunal Pandya for one run.
Speaking on this, Krunal Pandya said, "I was so thankful that I got his (Pollard) wicket otherwise, he would have eaten my brain throughout my life because he got me out and now that it's 1-1 at least he will speak less."
KL Rahul's blistering 100 and unique record
LSG skipper KL Rahul in a clash with MI brought up his second century of Indian Premier League 2022 on Sunday. He smashed 103 off 62 balls, leaving the crowded stadium awestruck with 12 fours and four sixes. In the process, Rahul became the first batter in the 14 years of the league's existence to score three centuries against the same team. A total of nine centuries have been scored against the Mumbai Indians to date, and a third of those have come off Rahul's bat.
Ravi Shastri tweeted, "A Masterclass in Construction, Execution and Awareness. Your Eyesight watching can only get better. Pure Azz…without batting an eyelid. Win, Lose, the bar is up @klrahul11 @LucknowIPL #LSGvsMI @IPL #IPL2022"
Mumbai Indians out of the race for the playoffs
This year, Mumbai Indians are having the worst season in the Indian Premier League. With eight consecutive losses in the ongoing season of IPL, five-time champions Mumbai Indians became the first team to get knocked out of the playoffs race.
Michael Vaughan said to Cricbuzz, "It's just the Mumbai operation this year; it's just not working. It's now got to a stage where I think it's worth them throwing in more youngsters to give them experience. Just to see if they can unearth one or two more wonderful young players. And then if you lose another couple, I honestly think it's time for Rohit Sharma to take a breather,"
RCB registered their second-lowest total in IPL against SRH
Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday registered their second-lowest total of 68 in IPL history. Their lowest score is 49, all out against Kolkata Knights Riders (KKR) in 2017. Defeating RCB by nine wickets, SRH claimed the second spot in the points table.
RCB's official account tweeted a tough day at the office.
Time to learn from this and move forward.

Second consecutive duck for Virat Kohli
In the clash against SRH, Virat Kohli got dismissed for a duck. This was his second successive golden duck. Cricket fraternity from across the globe shared their views on Virat's form:
"You want a fact? Every single great of our game has been through what Virat is going through. Want another fact? In his tweet, they all get through it and deliver on the big stage again…," Kevin Pietersen said.
"They might not be performing today, but one must not forget how hard both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli practice and that is the reason they are still the best batsmen today. So, let's support our champions when they need it the most. #TATAIPL #TATAIPL2022," tweeted Amit Mishra
Andre Russell's heroic knock couldn't save KKR from the loss against GT
In the match against Gujarat Titans, Andre Rusell made 48 in 25 balls with six sixes and 1 four. The team needed 18 runs in the final over to win, but Alzarri Joseph took Russell on the second ball of the over. The Cricket fraternity couldn't stop praising Russell's knock.
"That's a top all-around performance by Dre Russ! Took @KKRiders close to the finish line, but couldn't see it all the way through! Great stuff @Russell12A @gujarat_titans is sitting comfortably at the top of the table #IPL2022 #GTvKKR," tweeted Harbhajan Singh.
