India Women vs Australia Women: Review 4th T20I - Australia beat India by seven-runs
Australia prevailed by seven runs in the thrilling fourth game of the T20I series against India on Saturday night to secure an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-game series with one game remaining
The valiant efforts of India captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh went in vain as Australia clinched the series.
India won the toss and asked Australia to bat first.
The visitors started very fast, scoring 24 runs in 3.2 overs before opener Beth Mooney holed out to Deepti Sharma. Australia then lost captain Healy, who retired hurt.
India seemed to have the gained upper hand when they also removed Tahlia McGrath in the seventh over.
But a 94-run partnership between Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner gave Australia the momentum for a grand final push.
With some strong hitting from Grace Harris (27 off 12 balls) in the final overs and Perry's blitzkrieg, Australia finished their innings on 188/3 in 20 overs.
Chasing a big target, India lost openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma inside 5.4 overs.
Jemimah Rodrigues' poor run continued as she was dismissed for 8 runs, and India were left 49/3 after 7 overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (46 off 30 balls) and Richa Ghosh (40 off 19 balls) put in a mighty effort, but it was not enough as India missed the target by 8 runs.
Australia won the match by 7 runs to take the series 3-1 with one more match to play.
