West Ham manager David Moyes has highlighted his concerns about VAR ahead of his side's match against Premier League leaders Manchester City on Wednesday.

Moyes, who recently expressed his frustration with the system, is hoping for more favourable decisions in the run-in.

Moyes questioned the VAR decision-making process after his team was denied a late penalty in their 2-1 loss to Liverpool, where it appeared that Thiago handled the ball in the box. He was further frustrated when Nayef Aguerd's challenge on Eberechi Eze saw Palace given a controversial penalty during their 4-3 victory over West Ham on Saturday.

"I'd have to say yes on that (losing faith in VAR) but I would say I hope it doesn't all go one way and it changes around a little bit by the decisions going in your favour," Moyes said.

Moyes knows that his team faces a challenging task when they face Manchester City, who have been in blistering form this season.

City are currently 10 points clear at the top of the table, and have a talented squad that includes Erling Haaland, whom Moyes referred to as the "icing on the cake" for City.

Haaland has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring a record-equalling 34 goals in his debut Premier League campaign, with six games still to go. Moyes praised the Norwegian striker's physical and technical attributes, which have contributed to his success since his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

"He's a terrific finisher, whether it's his head or his feet, running in behind or scoring inside the box, he certainly has all the attributes as a really top goalscorer. He's got a team behind him that quite often try to make it easy for him to score," Moyes said.

West Ham will be looking to build on their recent form, which saw them go on a five-match unbeaten run that boosted their survival hopes and earned them a place in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

As West Ham aims to secure their Premier League status for another season, Moyes will be hoping for a positive result against City, as well as more favourable VAR decisions in the coming games.
