Owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK Government on Thursday morning, resulting in a number of restrictions being imposed on Chelsea.

These include the closure of the club’s merchandising arm, along with their inability to sell future tickets.

Sponsors have also started to drop out while their travel budget is also subject to a spending cap, which could be a real threat to the fulfillment of their Champions League fixtures.

The potential signing and re-signing of players is also currently restricted.

The players put on an impressive display on Thursday evening as they beat Norwich 3-1 in the Premier League and speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Tuchel admitted to the uncertainty.

He said, "As long as we have enough shirts and a bus to drive to the games, we'll be there and will compete hard.

"We take it day by day. I didn't see that coming yesterday and I don't know what is coming tomorrow."

Fans sang Abramovich’s name at Carrow Road on Thursday, but Tuchel said that events surrounding their owner had proven to be "another level of distraction".

He continued, "Of course the subject is there, the talks are going on, so there is a certain distraction. The level of impact it has - the news of today is big - in time we don't know how big.

    "We cannot influence it."

Chelsea’s win saw them cementing their position of third in the Premier League, with seven points separating themselves with second-placed Liverpool.

They are eight points ahead of Arsenal, but the Gunners have two games in hand.

Chelsea’s next game is on Sunday against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, which will be the first home game since the sanctions were applied to their owner.
