After the announcement, Mikel Arteta commented, "I am excited, grateful and happy today.

Mikel Arteta will be looking the fill the gap of defensive midfielders in the Arsenal squad once they are done with their summer sales. Florian Grillitsch has played as a defensive midfielder and a defensive midfielder. However, it is still unclear in what capacity Arsenal is looking to sign him.
Florian Grillitsch has suffered a few muscle injuries and two Covid-19 positives, making only 18 appearances this season which can be a downside to signing him if the muscle injuries become a recurring issue.
Arsenal has previously shown interest in Grillitsch in 2018, 2020 and at the beginning of 2022. Therefore, we will have to wait till the end of the season to see if Arsenal will be able to lure the Austrian national.
