The 2022 season will be a summer of transfers in the world of football. Barcelona is ready to shake up their squad through a couple of transfer's while Manchester United is looking to revamp their gameplay by rebuilding the club.
Due to these major changes coming up, other bigshot clubs are on the lookout to take in good players. With regard to that, here is a look at the rumours surrounding possible transfers in the current season:
Camp Nou in the Middle of a Transformation
After striking a partnership with Spotify, the Blaugranas are ready to send seven players away in the hopes of recruiting new ones. They have set up an agreement with Brazil forward Raphinha, who will be shifting from Leeds United this summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea's Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta and Danish center-back Andreas Christensen, are reportedly all set to move to Barcelona. On the other hand, Tottenham is currently the front-runner in the race to sign Netherlands forward Memphis Depay from Camp Nou.
Pedri, the 19-year-old midfielder from Barcelona and Spain stated that he wants Lionel Messi to return to Barcelona as a consequence of the 34-year-old Argentine's disappointing debut season at Paris St-Germain. Barcelona's Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho is all geared up to receive a pay cut before his loan move to Aston Villa permanent.
Arsenal Defender Kieran Tierney Might Join Real Madrid
Real Madrid is about to throw a £50million bid for Arsenal and Scotland defender Kieran Tierney. However, Premier League clubs are currently eyeing versatile Arsenal and England international Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who will not be retained by loan club Roma beyond the summer. He is likely to come back to English football when his temporary contract expires but Arsenal will most likely allow him to leave. Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen, a 23-year-old Nigerian striker, is estimated to be sold at £83 million by Napoli. Andreas Schjelderup, a 17-year-old Norwegian midfielder revealed that he had given up on a chance to move to Liverpool, but is open to a future move.
Chelsea Seeks Aurelien Tchouameni While Declan Rice Might Join United
Chelsea is now concentrating on their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni after the agent of the 22-year-old Monaco and France midfielder confirmed that they don't have an agreement with Real Madrid. Despite Tuschel showing an interest in signing Declan Rice this summer, Manchester United are keen on bringing the player from West Ham as part of a big-money midfield overhaul. Lastly, Newcastle United are thinking of inviting Everton and England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer transfer window.
