Transfer News:Why is Real Madrid's new buy Aurelian Tchouameni rated high and Will Bukayo Saka join Manchester CIty?
After a week of beating Liverpool during the Champions League final, Real Madrid has also beaten their opponents with the signing of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni
The 22-year-old is on the edge of joining French teammate Eduardo Camavinga at the Santiago Bernabeu in a deal worth more than £100 million as Carlo Ancelotti continues to reinforce his midfield.
Tchouameni joined Monaco after leaving Bordeaux in January 2020, having made his debut in professional football at 18. However, he has risen to become an established player since then.
Not that long ago, Tchouameni was used as an attacker or playmaker. However, he has grown to become a renowned player from deep for Monaco, and despite being only 22-years-old, he is now the club's vice-captain.
When Bordeaux traded Aurelien Tchouameni to Monaco for approximately €19 million in January of last year, they may have thought they did well to get the money for a young academy player who had played just 13 league games for the club.
Why is Aurelian Tchouameni so highly rated?
No outfielder has had more games in the team of Monaco than Tchouameni this year. He started 33 of the 38 games played by Monaco as they placed third on the table in Ligue 1.
Tchouameni has registered the fifth-highest minutes for players under the age of 23 in the five top European leagues from 2020-21. As a young player, Tchouameni arrives at the Bernabeu with a wealth of experience.
From a positional standpoint, Tchouameni has frequently been employed in the defensive midfield position with Youssouf Fofana. But, this time, Tchouameni could play a different role as the only defensive midfielder.
At 22, Tchouameni will be arriving with a different set of expectations and will certainly be looking to show off his talents frequently.
The confidence that has been put in Tchouameni is not limited to the football he plays for his club. In addition, he played for France at last year's European Under-21 Championship.
Tchouameni has since won 8 caps in the national senior team, where he has built an effective partnership with greater defensive discipline with Paul Pogba.
It's a remark on his character that Tchouameni was chosen to participate during France's Nations League final against Spain, which the French won 2-1. He has been frequently invited to the team since.
Real Madrid and Aurelian Tchouameni reached an agreement
Real Madrid has reached a verbal agreement with AS Monaco to sign the France international midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni for over £100 million.
The clubs are working on finalizing the legal and regulatory processes to allow the player's transfer to be signed and officially made public.
Tchouameni recently decided to join Real Madrid amid rival interests from Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
The Frenchman made his mark at Bordeaux and made 37 appearances in the first team before moving to Monaco in January 2020.
Will Arsenal's Bukayo Saka join Manchester City?
It has been reported that Manchester City is trying to sign Arsenal's Bukayo Saka.
His performance has been consistent, and he is considered one of the league's top young players this season. In 43 games, Saka has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists.
Manchester City is keen to pounce if he leaves, as he hasn't agreed on terms on a new deal, with his contract expiring in 2024.
Liverpool has also identified Saka as a future target, while Arsenal would want a transfer fee of more than £70 million before engaging in negotiations.
Arsenal is in a tough spot with Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka is a superstar in the current football scene despite his young age. Saka quickly transitioned from a teenage wonder to a reliable player with his performances, which has persuaded other ace clubs to look out for him.
Any of the top managers in Europe, including Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, will fight to bring him to their clubs if the opportunity arises.
As a result, Arsenal is left in a difficult position regarding Saka.
Every club official knows how good he is, and the prospect of losing him would send shivers down everyone's spine.
Because of that, they are willing to offer him a far better contract this summer, which would put him on par with the club's top earners despite his young age.
"It is a conversation we are going to have with the player, his agent, and his family, who are going to be extremely important as well," Mikel Arteta said in February when discussing a new deal for Saka.
"His importance in the team is unquestionable, and we want to keep our best talent, that's for sure."
Bukayo Saka has all the reasons to join another club
The fact is that Saka is deeply connected to Arsenal. Saka is the star of Arsenal's Hale End academy, and he is incredibly proud of this fact.
But he'll be looking to win the biggest trophy and participate in the Champions League every season. With only two years remaining in his current contract, all the power lies with the player and agent.
They're in a highly advantageous position in negotiations, and the connections that have emerged in the past with Manchester City already feel like some influence play by his representatives.
Arsenal was also conscious of the effect Champions League qualification would have on their summer plans, which included signing a new contract with Saka, who isn't yet able to be a part of Europe's premier club competition.
Because of Saka's talent and importance to the team, they could get almost anything they want because they are aware of what losing a player of the calibre of Saka could be for Arsenal and the work they're undergoing under Arteta.
Some think Saka is unwise to join a club such as Manchester City at such a young age. However, the young player has never been afraid of an opportunity.
Bukayo Saka could move to Manchester City
It's no secret that Bukayo Saka is keen to be a part of the Champion League, and if his North London club isn't able to offer him this, then Bukayo Saka might consider a move away.
These facts are coming to the light of day as Manchester City makes a move.
The Premier League champions are now closely watching developments in Saka's future as he moves into the last two years of his contract with the Gunners.
Saka is likely to look at his close buddy Jack Grealish, who was in the same situation in the summer of last year as he played the primary player for his club of childhood Aston Villa.
Although he loved Aston Villa, Grealish could not say no when Manchester City came with an offer.
Alongside their most fierce rivals in the country, Liverpool and Manchester City have earmarked the 20-year-old forward Saka as a possible future goal.
While any transfer this summer is unlikely, Manchester City has begun showing an increased curiosity about Saka at a critical time in Arsenal's efforts to bind him to an ongoing contract.
Manchester City has secured their top goal, striker Erling Haaland, and they are now seeking to strengthen their central midfield squad with any new signings being affected by the players who could depart.
