Transfer News English Premier League: Raheem Sterling, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah
Reports say a secret deal has been finalized between Sadio Mane and his future club Bayern Munich. Reportedly, they have agreed on a salary of €20M per season for three years
Liverpool rejects the deal between Mane and Munich
Mane is expected to leave Anfield in the coming months, with the Bundesliga champions favourited to land him, but the Reds are willing to hold out for more money.
Though the secret deal may have been cracked, the negotiations between his current club, Liverpool, and his future club, Munich, have not been finalised yet. Experts say this negotiation may be more challenging than expected because while Munich doesn't seem interested in paying a fee of more than €30M, Liverpool must be hoping somewhere around €50M, given that the player is still under contract with the Reds for another year.
Mohamed Salah is to transfer to one of the rivals if his extension with Liverpool doesn't go according to his wish
Reports say that Salah, one of the best Liverpool players this season, is planning to exit the club if his conditions are not met this season. His long-term contract is ending this summer, and as soon as it ends, he would either continue with Liverpool on his terms or join one of the rivals, whichever happens first. If Salah's extension with Liverpool fails, it'll be interesting to see which of the big fishes in the game can afford a big contract with him. City, United, and Chelsea are some clubs that can afford him and will be extremely lucky to have him. It remains to be seen if Liverpool can retain him or loses him to one of the rivals, giving them the power to dominate the Reds in the next season.
Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race for Raheem Sterling
While Chelsea was already after going for Raheem Sterling for the next season, Real Madrid has also reportedly joined the race now. Sterling's contract with City, the club he's been playing for since 2015, ends this summer and is expected to bring him some new offers. Now that Gareth Bale has left Madrid and its two most important players, Luca and Diaz, struggle to make goals, they need a good winger or second striker. This season, Chelsea too lost many vital goals due to their poor forward line that needs to be strengthened, and Sterling may play an incredible role in advancing their forward line.
The Manchester City chairman also hinted toward Sterling's transfer by saying that if Sterling's sold this year, they might have to start looking for a wide player to replace him. It remains to be seen where Sterling ends up.
