Thomas Tuchel ready to take on big challenge as new Bayern Munich coach

Newly-appointed head coach of Bayern Munich, Thomas Tuchel, has wasted no time diving head-first into the task of leading the Bundesliga giants to victory.

    Thomas Tuchel. Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel, who took over from Julian Nagelsmann last week, is determined to fix everything on the training ground, as he believes it is the quickest way to gain confidence.

"We don't really have much time," said Tuchel via the iMiaSanMia Twitter feed. "Winning all titles is still possible. Therefore, it will be all about the details. I have an idea of what to do and I'm really looking forward to it. It's about playing for all titles."

Tuchel, who has previously managed Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea FC, has been signed to the club until 2025, but he won't pay too much attention to the contract length. Instead, he wants to first repay the trust shown in him by the club.

"For me, that's not extremely important. I'm comfortable with the duration. If things go well, we'll try to extend it, and if any of the people in charge don't feel comfortable, it will change. As a first step, I will try to repay the trust," Tuchel said.

The 49-year-old coach will face Borussia Dortmund, his former club, in his first ever game as Bayern head coach on 1 April at Allianz Arena. This is a significant challenge for Tuchel, as Dortmund currently sits at the top of the Bundesliga standings, with Bayern one point behind after 25 games.

"The challenge of starting directly with the game against Dortmund cannot be higher," said Tuchel. "It's the biggest game in German football. It has taken on a new explosive dimension due to our deficit in the table and BVB's extraordinary run.

"I'm looking forward to it. It helps everyone to head out onto the pitch and prepare for Saturday evening. It's a huge game for all of us. It's about building trust as quickly as possible."

Tuchel is committed to working hard with the team to ensure they achieve success, and he believes that group discussions and feedback from the players will be important. "It's clear that there will also be group discussions and feedback from the players," he said. "It's about playing for all titles, and I'm confident we can achieve that goal."
