Thibaut Courtois joins Real Madrid absentees for Girona clash

Thibaut Courtois is the latest Real Madrid player to be ruled out of Tuesday night's La Liga clash with Girona.

Courtois has picked up a bout of gastroenteritis and Andriy Lunin is set to deputise for the Belgian shot-stopper.

"Thibaut Courtois will not play today in the match between Girona and Real Madrid , corresponding to matchday 31 of the League (7:30 p.m.). The goalkeeper is out at the last minute due to gastroenteritis and is not traveling with the team," the official statement read.

Los Blancos will be looking to maintain their winning streak but will have to do so without several first-team players. Injuries to Karim Benzema, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, Eden Hazard and a suspension to Dani Ceballos are the other casualties.

Real Madrid Castilla's Mario de Luis has been called up to provide cover on the bench.
