The race to sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has officially begun.
His contract with United will expire at the end of the season in June. It is believed that several top European clubs, including two Premier League franchises, have their eyes set on Pogba. He has previously expressed interest in joining Paris Saint-Germain. Newcastle, Aston Villa, Real Madrid and Juventus have communicated their interest to Paul Pogba’s agents.
Recently, Paul Pogba had expressed his dissatisfaction with the club’s performance over the last five seasons. The 29-year-old midfielder’s contract will expire in June 2022, and he has been free to speak to rival clubs since January 1,2022. A contract offer from United was on the table but they have not offered him a contract renewal since last summer. It is rumored that he will not decide on his future until summer due to several reasons.
Paul Pogba has had an impressive career so far, winning four Serie A titles, two Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups with Juventus FC; the World Cup and Nations League with France; the Europa League and EFL Cup with the Reds.Paul Pogba has scored 39 goals for Manchester United in 222 games. The Red Devils spent a world-record transfer fee of Euro 89 million in 2016 to bring Pogba back after his previous stint with the club ended in 2012.
Yet his return to United did not work out as he would have hoped. They have failed to even get close to winning either a Premier League or a Champions League title over the past five years.
Recently, Paul Pogba said "This year it is dead, we won't win anything. Whether it is with Manchester United or at another club, I want to win trophies." Many people have considered his comments disrespectful as the midfielder is still under contract with the club. His manager Mino Raiola claimed that Paul Pogba wanted to leave United just before a crucial Champions League match against RB Leipzig in the group stages of the 2020-2021 Champions League campaign. The club eventually lost the game and were knocked out of the Champions League early on in the group stages.
Which club could Pogba join?
