PSG Attempts to Retain Kylian Mbappe as Real Madrid Hopes for a Summer Transfer

Kylian Mbappe's future is currently uncertain because of Paris Saint-Germain's active efforts to retain him while Real Madrid also have reportedly shown interest. Paris Saint-Germain are relying on three possible ways to keep Kylian Mbappe, as stated by reports.

    Kylian Mbappe Kylian Mbappe

As his contract will expire this summer, there's a probability that he might join Los Blancos. The club is eyeing him as their top target but his move to Santiago Bernabeu has not been confirmed. However, Real Madrid is optimistic about bringing him to La Liga this summer. Hence, PSG have created a three-point strategy to ensure the 23-year-old stays put.

PSG to Let Go of Neymar

The Ligue 1 legends are willing to remove Neymar to ensure Kylian Mbappe is their main man going forward. The club picked them both in the summer transfer window of 2017, with Neymar making his entry from Barcelona and Mbappe from Monaco. Letting Mbappe devour the limelight might change his mind about leaving the club as per what they think.

Secondly, they want to welcome new players to appease Kylian Mbappe so that he has more faith in their upcoming project. 22-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni is one player expected to leave Monaco and join PSG. Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is also on their list of potential entries as his ongoing deal with Old Trafford will expire by the end of the season. Thirdly, PSG is even ready to offer Mbappe the captaincy.

Kylian Mbappe to Become PSG's New Captain

Kylian Mbappe received the armband for the finishing leg of their recent 6-1 win over Clermont Foot, where he scored three goals. It is not known whether current skipper Marquinhos is happy about giving up his captaincy. Furthermore, Real Madrid have arranged for funds to accommodate Mbappe and Florentino Perez is wholly certain about ushering the star to La Liga. Still, PSG are not ready to let go of the Frenchman who holds a record of 31 goals from 39 appearances this term.

Mbappe's Cool Exterior Implies Anything Can Happen

On being asked about his expiring deal with PSG, KylianMbappe seemed cool. The 23-year-old claimed, “I haven’t decided about my future yet. I’m cool. I want to take my time because I don’t want to get it wrong. I am thinking about it because there are new elements—lots of things, new parameters.[There are] a lot of parameters to take in consideration. I’m trying to figure it out with my family so I take the right decision.”

Mauricio Pochettino believes the French Striker Will Choose Paris over Spain

Back in March, Pochettino declared that he was confident about Mbappe turning down Real in order to stay in Paris. “Mbappe is ours and we hope he will be here for a long time,” he remarked. “I understand the media needs news about one of the best in the world, but he is our player, and we hope he’ll be for a long time. He already declared it’s not the time for a decision, so let’s wait for him to make a statement. Everything else is conjecture and guesses at things that may be very far from reality.” If PSG's three-point plan pulls through, we'd witness another year of Mbappe's excellent run in the club.
