The sixth-placed team in the table will be looking to continue their winning streak and close the gap on fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played one more game, to five points.
On the other hand, Leicester's four straight wins in all competitions were halted at home to Newcastle in the final week of matches on Boxing Day.
Leicester were beaten 3-0 by the in-form Magpies and now face an even more challenging game at Anfield.

Team news
Diogo Jota, Arthur Melo, and Luis Diaz are out for some time and are unlikely to be available in January. Ibrahima Konate, on the other hand, is expected to return to the first-team squad after his late return from the World Cup.
Roberto Firmino and James Milner are close to recovering from their injuries, but it remains to be seen if they can feature on matchday. For Leicester, in addition to Ryan Bertrand and James Justin, Dennis Praet will be out for a more extended period, having suffered a hamstring injury after just 20 minutes in the match against Newcastle United. Ricardo Pereira still needs to be fully fit for action.
Captain Jonny Evans will also be missing as he suffers from a calf injury, but midfielder James Maddison is expected to return to the squad after missing the last game with a knee injury.
Prediction
Liverpool 3:1 Leicester
1. Liverpool bounced back from last week's Carabao Cup elimination against Manchester City to beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Boxing Day. The Reds have an excellent home record against Leicester and are unbeaten in 12 games at Anfield against the Foxes.
2. Brendan Rodgers returns to Anfield after having his four-game winning streak ended impressively. Still, the Reds have won four in a row in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet four times in a row.
3. Against Villa, Liverpool showed their best side again and should record their second win on Friday night.
