Premier League big clash Manchester United vs Chelsea: Cristiano Ronaldo saves Manchester United
Manchester United tied 1-1 against Chelsea at Old Trafford on April 29 in one of the anticipated matches of the Premier League season.
Manchester United continues with another mediocre display as their troubled season, which began with very high expectations. Both the sides walked away with one point each after the draw, with Chelsea in the third spot with 66 points and Manchester United behind Arsenal at the sixth spot with 55 points, with two extra matches left to play.
Marcos Alonso in the 60th minute was the goal scorer for Chelsea, while Cristiano Ronaldo in the 62nd minute scored for Liverpool. Cristiano Ronaldo continued to display his superb skill on the field by cancelling out Marco Alonso's lead for Chelsea.
Chelsea struggled to make most of the opportunities in the first half as Manchester United's goalkeeper prevented Kai Havertz from scoring no less than three times. Chelsea finally got the breakthrough in the 60th minute when a cross from Chelsea defender Reece James was headed by Kai Havertz and landed on the feet of Marcos Alonso. The left-back sent the ball into the back of the net past David de Gea with a low volley. However, just two minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo equalized the score for Manchester United with a superb display of control and finishing.
Cristiano Ronaldo fired the ball past Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to score his 17th Premier League goal of the season after receiving a chip past Kante from Nemanja Matić. Chelsea got close to winning in the 79th minute, but the crucial shot by Reece James stuck the goalpost.
The Portuguese striker is now tied with Son Heung-Min for the second-highest number of seasons with 17 goals, with Mohammed Salah at the top of the chart with 22 goals.
Little has worked for Manchester United this season, but their five-time Ballon d'or winner has undoubtedly delivered in front of goal, scoring seven of the last eight goals by The Red Devils.
