Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly beat Chelsea in signing Uruguay international midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon.
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly gazumped Chelsea for the signature of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Ugarte is in Paris for a medical as reported by Fabrizio Romano and will arrive for a €60m fee after Chelsea pulled out of the deal late last night. The 22-year-old was open to a move to Chelsea, but PSG have offered more and the Blues were not willing to budge.
Meanwhile, Marco Asensio has also been signed by PSG, ending a nine-year association with Real Madrid and leaves as a free agent on a contract that expires in 2027.
Chelsea continue their search for a central midfielder with target Brighton's Moses Caicedo reportedly in favour of a move to Arsenal.
