Neymar takes part in a poker tournament
As per reports released by RMC Sport, Paris Saint Germain's Brazilian forward Neymar spent the weekend indulging in a high stakes poker tournament in Monaco
His appearance followed PSG's 3-3 draw with Strasbourg. The 30-year-old identifies as a skilled poker player finishing 29th of 75 entrants in the NL Hold'Em-Unlimited Re-Entry tournament, which required a €25,000 buy-in. He subsequently finished 74th out of 140 participants in a €550 buy-in competition before being eliminated at 3 am on Sunday.
Neymar's entry leaves the internet stunned, except for poker legend Guilbert.
The Brazilian was observed around a poker table actively relishing his other great passion at the Monaco casino. One of his sponsors, the European Poker Tour of Pokerstars, has started. Although the spectators were stunned, Neymar's arrival was foreseen by Johan Guilbert, ranked number one French Poker and vice world champion at the WSOP in Las Vegas in 2019 and Europe in 2021. He posted on this Twitter account that the Brazilian could arrive at the Monaco casino and then settle down at a table before the boss of the casino brings in one million euros cash sural gaming table.
RMC poker experts Benny and Yu stated that people must have thought that they were hallucinating upon spotting Neymar on the 550 tables, but he turned out to be a hardcore poker fan which thrilled everyone. They were also impressed by his likeable personality. Before he set out on his solo poker expedition, Paris Saint-Germain drew (3-3) against Strasbourg in Alsace. It was PSG's first outing as French champions, and sadly, they failed to win, similar to their match against Lens last week.
Big transfers possibly lie ahead for PSG.
The Parisians now have three more chances to redeem themselves and impress their fans. However, they have been distracted since the Champions League slipped out of their hands at the quarter-finals. The only good news for the fans could be the extension of Kylian Mbappé, who hails as one of the best players in the club with 24 goals and 14 assists to his name.
On the other hand, the club might let go of players with big salaries but subpar performances, such as Draxler, Icardi or Kurzawa. Messi will continue playing for the club, but L'Equipe claims the Qataris might not keep Neymar if a big offer falls on their path. At the Stade de la Meinau, the Parisians entered the field as champions of the current Ligue 1 season. Neymar Jr. and his teammates battled Strasbourg in the 35th round of the championship, leaving the score tied at 3-3.
