Marseille looking to make move for Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo
Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo could make the switch to Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille, according to reports.

Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo is the number one target of French club Olympique de Marseille according to La Gazette Du Fennec, particularly as he has Champions League experience with Barcelona.

Marseille are keen on bringing Firpo to the club as Marcelino Garcia looks to strengthen his squad as they prepare for another season in the European elite competition.

La Gazette Du Fennec reports that Marseille are in the hunt for a left-back with Champions League experience and are considering Firpo over other targets such as Algerian left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The newspaper states: "Not very competitive and not really cut for Europe, he is not the player who is targeted by the Marseillaise who could compete in the UEFA Champions League.

"The target is Junior Firpo of Leeds United, relegated to the Championship."

The Dominican Republic left-back joined Leeds back in July 2021 for a fee of around £12.8m plus add-ons.

Firpo has made over 50 appearances for the club but has performed inconsistently in the Premier League. With the club now relegated to the Championship, many players are expected to leave and Firpo is at the top of this list.

Meanwhile, Marc Roca is set for a move to Real Betis while Diego Llorente is finalising his transfer to Roma. Tyler Roberts has already been sold to fellow Championship side Birmingham City.
