Manchester United sign young goalkeeper Kie Plumley on a free
Manchester United have secured the services of up-and-coming goalkeeper Kie Plumley, as the club's overhaul of the position continues.
Erik ten Hag.At the age of 20, Plumley has made the switch to United after his release from Oxford United. He had garnered significant experience during loan stints while at Oxford.
Despite his time at Oxford not yielding any senior appearances, Plumley did find himself on the bench seven times during his tenure with the League One club.
Plumley, a lifelong United supporter, further honed his skills during loan spells with lower league outfits Weston-super-Mare and Beaconsfield.
For the upcoming season, Plumley is expected to assume a backup role within United's youth squads. He has also been officially listed as one of the eligible U21 players on the club's Premier League squad roster.
It's worth noting that United boasts a total of 56 eligible youngsters on the list, so Plumley's inclusion doesn't necessarily hint at senior team involvement during his time at the club.
The goalkeeper department at United has undergone significant changes in recent months, including the release of David de Gea, the sale of Dean Henderson, and the signings of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. Additionally, the club parted ways with young goalkeepers Nathan Bishop and Matej Kovar.
